Route planning

For journeys from East Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary: Take the Vienna - Salzburg motorway (A 1) westbound, exit for Wals-Lofer, cross the German border via Bad Reichenhall and re-enter Austria over the Steinpaß mountain pass to Lofer, head to Maishofen in Zell am See before turning off for Saalbach-Hinterglemm or

Take Vienna - Salzburg motorway (A 1) westbound until it feeds onto the Tauern motorway (A 10). When you get to Bischofshofen, take the Pinzgau Road B 311 towards Zell am See, and head to Maishofen before turning off for Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

For journeys from Germany: (This route does not require Austrian road tax) Take the Munich - Salzburg motorway (A8) until the Siegsdorf exit. Head from there toward Inzell. Keep on going past Inzell until you get to a turn-off marked for Lofer. Take the Steinpass mountain pass over the Austrian boarder and continue to Lofer. Head from there through Saalfelden towards Zell am See. In Maishofen you will reach the turn-off for Glemmtal. From there it is just another 14 km to Saalbach Hinterglemm.
